Picnic-ed at the botanic gardens yesterday! Quite a sudden decision..cos' the bf said he wanted to picnic there. And so much for
picnic. All we bought were chips and drinks. Hahaha. I told him he has to find me a pretty picnic basket so next time we can pack more yummy homemade stuffs along!
The weather was really good..and the place super crowded! Lots of families and kids and dogs and whatnot. Perfect way to laze the weekend away actually. I curled up with
the time traveller's wife while letting my boy amuse himself with my ds lite. Lol.
And we fell asleep! Really quite
shuang..just that I ended up as food for the mosquitoes. As usual. All this despite the repellant I used. =x
Didn't manage to catch
the hurt locker in town after that cos' tickets were sold out. Sighh. I was kinda disappointed but nevermind..another day! Chilled at starbucks while listening to this three-men band playing classics, oldies and some jazz pieces..I love such music. =) And the hazelnut latte was good! Cured my headache. Haha. Don't think mb is much of a coffee person the way I am. Who on earth drinks hot starbucks coffee by sipping through that tiny green straw/stirrer-looking thingy? Out of an entire
grande, I think he sipped like 5% of it? Lol.
Slept most of my day away this afternoon..till I missed dinnertime. Went running with the sister after; it was a good run! Though I am
most certainly out of shape. ECP was damn freaking crowded mans..what with the weekend and deepavali celebrations. I swear I've never seen komala's so filled before! Haha.
Dinner-ed at subway and that was an uber
annoying experience. Didn't have cash on me, so after the guy started making my sub, I told him I'd come back after going to the atm. He wanted to continue making my sub and just leave it aside for me later, but no...another service staff next to him (presumably the boss, puiiii) said to leave it until I came back with money. Whatever.
When I got back, he was serving another customer, meaning I was next in line. And that "boss" was standing behind the counter looking
extremely free. He knew very well that I stepped out a mere
5mins to get some cash, and my sub was sitting there waiting to be completed, but said I had to queue behind the customer.
Okay fine. Nevermind the fact that he was just standing there doing absolutely
nothing. The customer in front of me ordered
three foot-long subs, and not only didn't know what subs to get, he didn't know what veg to pick as well. And the sauce. MYGOD. The queue behind him grew steadily longer..as he took his time..and the staff took an
even longer time to make the subs...talk about lack of efficiency when there were at least TWO other staff members standing behind the cashier, just waiting and not doing anything.
When it came to my turn to pay, the customer in front of me wasn't done with his payment yet. Sigh. He started asking the "boss" some questions about this stamp card he was holding, which outlets it could be used at, how to get one chop..talking about some experience at some other subway outlet..and finally rounding off with, "did you return me my change?"
Following which, the very annoying and unhelpful "boss" started explaning, practically in
exact denominations, the change that had been duly returned. Heaven forbid that he kept the customer's change and refused to return it....*rolls eyes*
I was seriously
steaming by then, and I think the uncle behind me could tell. He was almost done with his subs too, and we were just standing there in line for like
10 freaking minutes.
To top things off, when I returned to the table, my sister told me that while I was at the atm, one of the staff actually let a
knife fly over the counter and towards the tables! There was this pair of guys sitting there, and thankfully the knife missed them. Plus another female customer who was standing in front of the counter just a minute ago.
Seriously! What the hell is wrong with these service staff?! Forget the bad service; now we have
flying knives too? What if it hit someone and caused an injury? The best part was, the guy didn't even
know he let fly a knife. A customer actually had to pick it up and return it to him. *faints*
So people, if you ever wanna go to the subway at ECP, please keep a lookout for all these nonsense. Sit far away from the counter, go only if you can put up with slow and lousy service, and if you have the luck of missing flying knives.
That kinda wrapped up a lousy dinner. At least the food standard is pretty much similar throughout the outlets. Or I would really have made a complaint there and then I think.
Anyhows, the sister and I took a walk after that and went to look for my darling at some chalet party. He was so full of nonsense! But at least she had a pretty good first impression of him. Wouldn't do it for me if my family don't like my bf. Haha. So far so good! =)
Slept so much in the day that I'm pretty awake now..need to start counting
mehmehs so that I can enter
lalaland soon.
Can't wait for payday so that I can go buy some stuffs.
Retail therapy!
And tomorrow is monday all over again.
