Goshh I really haven't blogged in a
gazillion years! Sooo muchh to update about! But too lazy to spell out the specifics. Haha.
Camboviet trip was really great! An eye-opener for me in more ways than one, no matter the fact that this was my second time back in cambodia. Seems like each time I step on the soil of another land, the culture kind of infuses into me and I just soak in the way of life there.
Granted, still as a tourist..but I'd like to think that the things I learn from each trip enrich my own life.
Miss the simple life over there in the rural areas..and I've missed the bblc kids so much! Seeing them in the flesh, laughing together, playing games, excitedly exchanging stories about our lives..have missed them so. =)
Travelling with the other
five four sreys and huizhen has been a fantastic experience! Haha. Their antics really never failed to crack me up..so full of nonsense! I miss us as a team of six tooo. Five samurai apes and one watermelon-eating ape. =D
I think this trip has gotta be the only one thus far where I had so many weird things happening to me. Hahaha. The moment I landed in siem reap airport, once I stepped onto the tarmac...my havaianas
broke. Super sad!! And that was my only footwear. Ended up barefoot in the airport, and attracting alot of unnecessary stares. Thank goodness for huizhen's slippers. Lol. Really "stepped" right into the culture upon arrival. =p
I think the most unforgettable has gotta be the allergy attack though. Haha. Still can't be sure what caused it, though I'm fairly certain it was the chicken blood. But that was quite a nerve-wrecking experience..first time in my life suffering from an allergy reaction. Hopefully it'll be the first and last timee.
And ohh! Tried cicada and spider, and the latter is really yummy! Sometimes I wonder where I get the guts to eat all these nonsense from. Haha. Just seeing a cockroach can make me sprint like an olympic runner; yet I actually spend money ingesting arachnids and whatnot. Anyhows..no harm done! Cambodians eat it like a snack. Lol. We only live once, might as well try all kinds of things while I'm still young, right? =p
I still prefer cambodia to vietnam though..shopping in ho chi minh left abit of a bad taste. Can't say that I very much like all the people there, though there are nice ones. But overall, still enjoyable!
And I think we've all become jaywalking experts from travelling to these two countries. I swear the zebra crossings are simply areas along the roads to jaywalk. No one actually stops to let you cross. Lol.
Coming back to sg was kinda sad..leaving behind the unblemished beauty of a country not fully modernised and stepping back into the hustle and bustle of city life here is always hard for me. Last year it was like that; this time, no different.
The kind of beauty found there really transcends what we have here in the place we call home. Sometimes, I wish we could all just take a step back, enter a time warp and content ourselves with a lifestyle that's back-to-basics.
Can't wait to eventually backpack SEA. =) And to think I was the one who said, once upon a time, that I wouldn't travel to southeast asian countries. Really eat my own words. Haha.
Had a company photoshoot about a week ago! Really quite a big affair..what with a makeup artist and official photographer and all. All that was lacking in office was a proper studio. Haha.
Photoshoots can be pretty fun! And tiring..now I know how it feels like to be a model under the glare of the
hothothot lights, smiling till my jaws ache and having to move one degree to the left just to get the exact position that the creative director wants. And then, to stay in that position for the next fifteen minutes without moving, or risk re-doing the whole thing again.
Not easy!!!
Can't wait to see the photos! Taken
a la vogue style. Haha. With the boss at the helm, the photos can't turn out
that badd. =p
Was supposed to go ecp after work but ended up at home..wanna go to the night festival later, but now BB can't make it. Sighh. Looks like I'm resigned to spending my saturday rotting away at home again. And to think I just capped a long week of work! =x
Haven't bladed in over a month and I'm itching to get onto my eight wheels! Yet at the same time, I keep worrying that I've forgotten how to blade. Hahaha.
Super tempted to curl my hair since the photoshoot; was given curls that day (not very well-done, in my opinion) and I pretty much like the look of it. The rest were telling me to go for curls too..but..dunno lehh. It's like a vicious cycle where once I start, I can't stop. Like rebonding..see how first! Maybe one day I'll be so stressed that I might just
chiong into a salon and tell them to do whatever they want to my hair. Haha.
Okays that was nonsensical babbling. Quite siann now, wondering what to do later..done with my anime already. I like FMA! =D
See if mb is awake and planning to go for the night festival. =p
